Computer Packages Inc. intends to continue to vigorously defend itself against WhitServe's charges of patent infringement, pursuing all possible appeals. The jury's verdict of patent infringement, including the award of damages, was without legal or factual basis and clearly based on a baseless emotional appeal by WhitServe's counsel. We strongly believe that this verdict will be reversed on appeal, and that the WhitServe patents will ultimately be found to be invalid, unenforceable and not infringed. In the meantime, we are committed to standing behind our customers, and intend to implement in the near future new and improved patent annuity reminder and management systems which remove the functionality WhitServe has alleged of infringement.
