2026 AIPPI World Congress
The 2026 AIPPI World Congress will take place 7–10 October 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, bringing together intellectual property professionals from around the globe for four days of legal debate, policy discussion, and international networking. Organized by AIPPI – the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the World Congress is the association’s flagship annual event and a key meeting point for practitioners, in-house counsel, academics, judges, and policymakers.
Each year, the AIPPI World Congress focuses on “hot” and emerging IP issues through a structured program of plenary sessions, study committee work, and professional development panels. In 2026, the Congress will once again include AIPPI’s renowned harmonization program, where members work on Study Questions and Resolutions addressing key topics in patents, trademarks, copyright, and related rights. These Resolutions—developed through comparative input from national and regional groups—help shape international dialogue and inform future IP policy.
Beyond the formal legal work, the Congress offers rich opportunities for networking and community building, with receptions, social events, and informal meet-ups that connect delegates from more than 100 countries. Sessions typically feature leading experts discussing practice trends, litigation developments, enforcement strategies, and the impact of technology and globalization on IP systems.
Set against the backdrop of Hamburg’s historic waterfront—billed as “where innovation meets tradition on the waterfront” for this edition—the 2026 World Congress promises a unique combination of substantive IP content, international collaboration, and cultural experience in one of Europe’s most dynamic port cities.
